you’re from the states and like your steak then you’ll probably have heard of The Palm already, for those who haven’t it’s the first European restaurant from an American group of 26 steak joints which is big on the meat…

The philosophy at The Palm London is to treat guests like family, serve great food, and exceed expectations – on our visit we’re happy to say it ticked the box on all three. We arrived and took a seat at the bar for a cocktail and homemade crisps. There is a list but we recommend you try the Palm Refresh made with Prairie Organic Vodka,  fresh lemon, muddled fresh basil, cucumber and agave nectar – just what we needed after hitting rush hour on our way down.

On to our table and we certainly got the American vibe from the brown leather seats, dark wooden tables, low lighting and the family portraits on the wall – the owner and his family apparently. Once seated the steaks arrived raw and we choose our cut, just like a hunter gatherer minus the hard work and bloody hands. We went for the Rib Eye along with sides of potato gratin and spinach.

Served medium rare it was perfectly cooked making it feel almost light rather than heavy and stodgy. The gratin was obviously extremely calorific but my god it was good whilst in honour of all the non meat eaters out there we tried the Seabass. Two whole fillets on the plate it was certainly value for money but we’re not going to lie, it was no steak…

Too full for desert we had to give it a miss however if you’ve got room try the cheesecake for us and let us know what you think. The Palm London is definitely worth making a trip for and girls, it’s perfect if you want to treat the boy!
