nothing better in winter than indulging in a good Sunday roast and, if you’re in the East London hood, The Leconfield is a pretty good shout. Located on Green Lanes, the pub still feels very much like a pub and a lot less trendy than it’s counterparts but this is no bad thing, because the grub is banging.

We’d recommend you start with one of their homemade redcurrant and rosemary sausage rolls and the chorizo and cumberland croquettes. Roasts come with either chicken, beef, pork belly or the 50/50 (half beef and pork belly).

We went for the 50/50 (obvs), sirloin roast beef and Gloucester pork belly. The roasts are HUGE! We’re talking massive here and all come with beef dripping roasties, red cabbage, honey glazed roots, yorkshire pudding & seasonal greens. Meat is well cooked, gravy is proper meaty and the yorkies are homemade and big, very big. If you can squeeze in a pudding there’s crumble, but after that roast you’ll struggle to, we can tell you…

Get down there and fill your boots now before word gets out, at £13 – £15 it’s great value too!
