Tails has a new east London home, having taken over the kitchen at Hoxton Square Bar & Kitchen. Owned by DJ Seth Troxler, Smokey Tails serves up smoked meats, home style BBQ flavours and Midwestern American dinner vibes. Think cherry wood smoked lamb ribs, honey chicken biscuit sliders, apple wood smoked buffalo chicken wings, and crayfish mac’n’cheese – as BAD ASS as BAD ASS gets.

For us though the highlight had to be the BBQ pork brioche bun crammed with juicy meat and crunchy pickled red cabbage, and we were pleasantly surprised by the veggie dishes too, in particular the asparagus and sweetcorn which had been given the ‘smokey’ treatment.

What’s more Smokey Tails have just launched a BBQ Picnic takeaway box too, which means you can enjoy a BBQ in the park without having to cook a thing or worry about whether the coals are even on fire. The box includes chicken wings, slaw, potato salad, tomato salad, smoked Mexican sweetcorn and dessert. For under a tenner. WINNER.
