Thisintimate restaurant is set on the less busy end of Curtain Road and serves a pretty meaty menu. Well it is a smokehouse. We sampled a selection of dishes, each one we couldn’t fault but our favourites were the juicy Scallops with Nduja (FYI if in doubt just add ndjua and the world is INSTANTLY a better place) Mussels in Wu Gang Chops, The Tree which is basically a beer sauce and topped with lots of samphire and the huge slab of perfectly cooked lamb with fennel puree.
Then there’s the sides and THAT cauliflower cheese with beef dusted and almonds, oh we dusted it off alright and the roasted beets. Dessert comes as roasted peach with crème fraiche, honey and almond and the only choice you have is a yes or no. The wine list is small but well formed and there’s three decent cocktails too. Get down before word gets round as we have a feeling this will be popular.
