Rockfeedback’s 10th anniversary night at electrowerkz went down a storm. Even the last minute venue change didn’t dampen the mood. True, organisers were manic, running around with bits of paper but the night couldn’t have been better. Shown to a pallet of red stripe we filled our pockets and headed along dark corridors and up staircases to find the room where Future of the Left were playing. A loud and fast assault of punk rock brought the room alive. Playing the instantly banned Mclusky track lightsabre Cocksucking Blues the room erupted. With little time to spare we were once again venturing down corridors for a quick red stripe refill then onto catch a glimpse of British Sea Power and a glimpse was all that could be seen, for that room was packed beyond belief! I didn’t see a tree or a bear!
After devouring a burger from the bbq, we lost in horrific game of table football before making our way to see Pulled Apart By Horses take the stage at 1am. A set which saw guitarist James dressed in a monkey suit. There was lots of jumping and climbing, jokes, shouting, screaming, shirts being taken off which made it a cracking set, no guitar smashing though, even daring James to smash his new guitar before the gig couldn’t persuade him!
The night seemed to be over too soon, maybe that was the pallet of red stripe, which had unbelievably ran out! Walking home at 5:30 in the morning we had endued 7 hours of live bands, dj sets, conversations with randoms, a table football beating and a burger…..why cant every Friday night be like this!
