food wing masters Randy’s have opened their first permanent place in Here East AKA the Hackney Riviera. Located in what was the journalists base during the Olympics, the site opens up right onto the canal with plenty of al fresco dining options, from the tables and the deck chairs to the well-kept grassy canal edges.

We went down to enjoy lunch in the sun, kicking off with a couple of fruity cocktails, chicken skin scratchings and chicken liver popcorn. When in Rome…or on the Hackney canal for that matter. We tried all the wings, our favourites though had to be the Buffalo, fried and drenched in buffalo sauce and truffled blue cheese, and the Gangnam Korean style fried wings in a sweet, sticky sauce.

We also tried the super soft Bulgogi burger and hefty Argy Bhaji burger, which might be veggie but is actually pretty meaty, whilst the sumac summer salad and tangy slaw were super fresh and zesty, helping to cut through the otherwise heavy menu. If you like to wing it, whack Randy’s to the top of your list.
