is a welcome retreat from the mayhem of nearby Mare Street housed a short walk down Morning Lane. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, this small but uber friendly cafe offers some tasty treats, pucker homemade meals and rich coffees and teas – everything is lovingly homemade from the crumpets to the ketchup and jam. Having pondered down here a number of times we’ve come to like this place more and more. Perfect for a good old chin wag over coffee and cake, try the flourless chocolate cake we can’t get enough of it.

The Moroccan Eggs are another must, served with a helping of bread this piping hot dish is full of flavour. We’ve also heard the bacon sandwich is the snizzle and the evening menu looks like it’s worth a shot too! The food here is slightly more expensive that your usual Hackney cafe but we don’t mind paying that little bit extra for locally sourced top notch produce that is healthy and dish delish! Top tip – make sure you order a large coffee, its only 20p more but makes the cuppa worth having. An easy place to while the afternoon away or great first date location.
