loti eats: patty & bun soho

Patty and Bun is continuing its London burger domination with a new site in Soho, right on Old Compton Street, which opened a couple of months back. Inside it’s the usual Patty and Bun vibe – think reclaimed wooden tables and chairs, exposed brick, loud music, and some sexy red neon signs just for soho. We kicked off the night up at the bar with a couple of cocktails, some crisp chicken skin with hot sauce, and some ham hock nuggets with a cheddar and tomatillo dip. YUM.

The burger menu will be fairly familiar to Patty and Bun fans but when you’re talking about one of the best burgers in town this is no bad thing at all. You can’t go wrong with the Jose Jose Chilli Burger – that’s an aged beef patty, cheese, pickled onions, sobrasada & chilli Relish, smokey P&B mayo, ketchup, lettuce, and tomato in a brioche bun. We also couldn’t resist the special ‘Beefer Sutherland’ burger – beef patty, roast onion ketchup, beef fat mayo, beef shin rage, pickled shiitake mushrooms and smoked cheese. Add in some crispy confit potatoes, coleslaw and a couple of cold beers and you’ve got yourself a damn good dinner.
