REVIEW: PARAMOUNT X AFTERNOON TEA

With The Shard opening this year we’ve all become a little bit obsessed with restaurant and bars which have killer views. We’ve already experienced dinner in Paramount so we’re well aware of just how good those views actually are, but last week we went on sugary high right to the top for the Afternoon Tea.

The Afternoon Tea menu features the traditional sarnies, cakes and scones only the offerings are a little more exciting than your bog standard cucumber sandwiches. Served on a slate tier alongside a choice of herbal teas or optional glass of fizz – hey if you’re gonna go to Paramount you might as well dine like a high roller!

The savoury side is made up from a huge selection of goodies including smoked salmon & fromage blanc on rye pumpernickel, dry cured ham with piccalilli on sour dough, free range boiled egg with grain mustard, mayonnaise and cress on toasted brioche, poached chicken with spring onion mayonnaise on multi grain loaf and quiche of the day. Scones are served warm, fresh from the over with lashings of homemade strawberry and clotted cream. Whilst the middle tier is littered with all kinds of creamy cakes and tarts, there’s certainly no chance you’ll leave here hungry!

The perfect place to impress the parents or in-laws and priced from £28 it won’t break the bank either.
