The
Langham, one of London’s swishest hotels, is celebrating its 150th anniversary this year and they’re celebrating with a few changes. Already home to The Artesian, officially the best bar in the world, and Roux at the Landau restaurant, the hotel has now re-launched its famous Palm Court dining room with the Roux family at the helm again. The Palm Court is 5-star hotel elegance and there’s a menu to match, with classic French and European dishes on offer. We started with the ‘Palm Court Lobster Salad’, big fresh chunks of lobster tail served with avocado puree and Marie Rose sauce. Next up was chicken Pojarski which resembled a ‘posh chicken nugget’ (Michel Roux Jr’s words, not ours), however we’ve certainly never tasted a chicken nugget anywhere near as good as this dish before. Then came the rib eye steak with a rich ‘Marchand de Vin’ sauce before finishing with some of the best profiteroles we’ve ever had.
Next up Michel will be revamping the room service menus at The Langham too… dinner from a Michelin-starred chef brought to your room and enjoyed in bed? We’re checking in.
