month, festival favourites, the Mussel Men came to town and boy did we get on it! The bunting was up, the striped shirts were on, the music was playing and the mussels were cooking.

Located in Fabrica584 the pop-up mussel shack offered Prosecco by the bottle, six oysters, a kilo of mussels and a tray of skinny fries (or pomme frites as they say in France) all for forty quid. There were also options to try just a kilo of mussels for £12 but we’d recommend going all out. The mussels were fresh, the sauce was full of flavour, the portions were generous and the thumb wars were plentyful.

The muscles behind the Mussel Men are currently rushed off there feet feeding the masses at the Olympic Park but when that’s all done we here they have another three nights planned! Tickets cost £27 for a kilo of mussels between two, bottle of prosecco and skinny fries – Remember you heard it here first!
