have to admit we were slightly intimidated when we saw a picture of ‘The Stack’. But never one to turn away from the job in hand we ventured to the Malmaison to take on this incredibly cheeky burger. The burger itself clocks in at 250 grams, and then there are the trimmings; cheese, lettuce, tomato, then a pile of onion rings topped with a foie gras slider. Physical and mental concentration was peaking as The Stack was placed before us, truly taking our breath away. It’s one big burger alright!

The foie gras slider was the first point of attack, a strategy that worked well for us. The crispy onion rings seemed to act as a barrier to what was clearly the main objective, we threw them aside after destroying the first eager to get our hands on the burger. The juices seeped out with the first bite and controversially it passed the burger test by staying together in bun until the last bite – full marks. What is surprising is that we finished it, all of it including the fries. How did we feel, well in a word, satisfied.

The Stack is new on the menu, get involved. Nineteen pounds for a meal that will keep you talking all week.
