checked in to check out the London Marriott Hotel Marble Arch this weekend. The hotel is located in Marble Arch just around the corner from the West End, Selfridges, the shopping mecca of Oxford Street and the greenery of Hyde Park.Outside the hotel doesn’t look up to much but inside it fully deserves its four stars. The hotel is one of the very few London hotels to have a swimming pool, sauna and Jacuzzi.
We stayed in a king room which was pretty spacious with a big king bed, TV, robes, slippers, bath, shower, mini bar, kettle – basically everything you could ever need in a hotel room. And what’s more the rooms are deadly silent – no annoying extractor fans which we have found in other hotels!
The spa is a welcome retreat after a busy day shopping on Oxford Street, the pool isn’t massive but it’s clean and well kept. We also got to check out the Executive Lounge located on the 12th floor with views out over London. This was pretty sweet, free booze, canapés, nibbles and scones and cream. We’ll be sure to add this on to all of our bookings in future.
The hotels restaurant is reasonably priced and does a good burger and fries. In the morning we stuck to the continental breakfast option – well we had eaten burgers the night before, we don’t want to be too unhealthy! The breakfast was a good spread, with lots on offer and the service was excellent throughout the hotel.
We would happily recommend the London Marriot Marble Arch and the prices ain’t bad either, with rates from £128.80 plus VAT for Bed and Brekkie. Worth every penny!
TopTip: Book in advance to save up to 15% off rates.
