Gourmets des Ternes is the latest restaurant to arrive in the mighty SW. Located down Knightsbridge Green, the blink-and-you’ll-miss-it restaurant is the third opening from the family-run business, originating from Paris. Inside is typically French: once behind the velvet curtain, you’re led into a narrow room with close-for-comfort tables draped in signature-covered tablecloths – they’ve had an impressive array of names from Presidents to Hollywood royalty through their doors in Paris.

A classically French menu, aside from a rather curious inclusion of rice, we started with the heritage tomatoes and a hot stove of garlic escargots – that’s snails sweetie. Mains were a delicious fillet of steak and the beef bourguignon- French cooking isn’t the most creative, but it sure is tres bien. We rounded off the night with crème caramel, chocolate mousse and with a visit upstairs to the Rendez-Vous bar which is an absolute must. It’s quirky members lounge feel is charming and a total find. It might just be the coolest spot in Knightsbridge.
