a new pop-upon Selfridges roof top and it’s ever so pretty. Le Chalet is run by the same guys who did the summer pop-up, Q Grill only it has an alpine theme. There’s mulled wines, hot choctails (that’s boozy hot choccy), fondue and roast meats. We started with a blue cheese fondue and delish deep fried garlic chunks of bread for dipping.

Spit roasted suckling pig, apple & black pudding fritters was a mammoth dish with double crackling, rich black pudding and a big slab of meat. And the Barked short rib with caramelised parsnip mash was no smaller either, meat so soft it crumbled away from the bone.

We’d heard so much about the Eggnog snow egg we thought it rude not to try it, light and fluffy with a thick creamy sauce it’s the perfect Christmas dessert. Whilst the Chocolate and Orange hot choctail was like eating a melted Terry’s with an added kick and so rich we really couldn’t finish it.

Go hungry folks or go home, this really is food for winter!
