CHECKING IN: KING STREET TOWNHOUSE

A new edition to Manchester and the fifth venue from Eclectic Hotels is the all singing and all dancing King Street Townhouse which features a rooftop spa with views over Manchester Town Hall. The Grade II listed building is steeped in history built back in 1872 and designed by a local architect the Italian renaissance building is nothing short of stunning.

The townhouse comprises of 40 bedrooms ranging from snug rooms to suites. We took a Comfy, which boasted a free standing bath, super king sized bed that should be on the tram line, as well as walk in rain shower. The real wow factor in King Street Townhouse is undoubtably the rooftop infinity spa, located on the 7th floor overlooking the clock tower and spires of the Manchester Town Hall. Watching the sun go down over looking the city is pretty special and those bubbles never get boring.

Also in the hotel you’ll find the Afternoon Tea lounge decked out in designer fabrics, mood lighting and art making the ideal quiet spot for a good cuppa. Whilst in the Mezzanine Lounge there are plenty of deep and comfy sofas to sink yourself into while you marvel at the fireplace and with a two-way facing fire and THAT south facing terrace is also pretty bloody special too. And when it comes to grub, their restaurant The Tavern is serves up simple food, no fuss, with everything from superfood salads to burgers.
