Kitchen is a British restaurant which has just opened fairly quietly on Drury Lane in central London. Having been down to check it out, we’re sure you’ll be hearing a lot more about this place as it’s absolutely bloody marvellous.

The restaurant itself is fairly small and simply decorated with reclaimed wooden tables and LOTS of jars, which serve as both light fixtures and water glasses. Set up by two friends with the help of amazing chef Dominik Moldenhauer, previously of Heston Blumenthal’s Dinner.

Jar Kitchen Dessert

We started with oxtail and cheddar croquettes with aioli, perfectly crisp with a rich filling these were delish. Sea bass, avocado and fennel was another winner; a nice, light dish for spring. Main courses were not overly complicated but packed full of flavour – lamb rump with parsnip puree and beets tasted incredible, as did the pork belly with smoked grilled cabbage, turnips and hazelnut crumble. Definitely save room for dessert too as you won’t want to miss out on chocolate ganache with banana ice cream or the mini doughnuts.

Jar Kitchen is definitely one of our favourite places of the year so far. Simple but creative cooking, full of flavour. Get down there quick before everyone else finds out just how good it is!
