has well and truly taken over London but if you work in Canary Wharf, you’ve been out of luck so far when it comes to getting your ramen fix…until now. Ippudo, one of the biggest and oldest ramen joints in Japan, has just opened its second London branch at the new Crossrail Place in Canary wharf and we went down for a sneak peak of the entire menu.

Aside from ramen, Ippudo has a pretty amazing line up of starters. Our favourites were the chicken karaage (think Japanese fried chicken), tempura prawns, and the incredible pork Hirata buns featuring a spicy Japanese mayo which tasted like the best Big Mac sauce you’ve ever had…yes this is a GOOD thing.

Moving on to the ramen, there’s a whole host of classic, vegetarian and seasonal specials to choose from and we went for the Akamuru Modern made from the classic pork bone broth, homemade thing noodles, pork belly and Ippudo’s secret Umami Dama paste. We don’t know what’s in that paste, but we like it.
