Bacio Express on Church Street, Stoke Newington is always busy! We racked up last week to see just why all of these humans were attracted to the restaurant with the grey sign.

The menu is simple – pizza, pasta or salad all of which are reasonably priced . Inside is quite small but if the weather permits you can always baggsey a table outside and play the “count the bugaboos” game. We stuck with the inside and went straight in for the Pizzas, one goats cheese and veg and one spicy sausage option from the specials menu.

The pizzas were HUGE, as was the side salad we ordered to share, freshly cooked, thin and crispy whilsts still having a substanial base. The spicy sausage was the winning flavour as the goats cheese option was a little too rich.

We also whacked a bottle of Rose in but were too full to even look at the desserts. OK, OK we did take one peek in the fridge on the way out to check out the tiramisu which looked pretty darn good.

The bill came to just over £40 which included the wine – not bad. But the real question is, would we go back? Well yes we would, not like tomorrow but if we fancied pizza on Church Street we’d pop in. Il Bacio Express doesn’t make the rules but it doesn’t break any either.
