Chinese
restaurant Good Earth has been in the business of serving Chinese food for 30 years, the small London chain recently opened a new outlet on Wandsworth Common. We went down to check it out. First things first, the location is pretty spesh, right on the edge of the common it’s a great place to have dinner then stroll through the park as the sun sets. The restaurant itself is a little bling inside, like your usual upmarket Chinese restaurants with token statement pieces of decor throughout. Food wise it’s all pretty authentic, freshly cooked and freaking tasty. From the starters our favourites were the gooey, sweet Honey glazed ribs and the Dragons Whisper Prawns, two meaty king prawns wrapped in fine shredded pastry and deep fried.
For mains the Sichuan Prawns were the perfect mix of sweet and spiciness, a generous portion but we’d expect so at just under £18. Hunan Chilli Lamb in a Paper Pot with cumin & special preserved chilli came served in a paper pot, the tender lamb pieces covered in a tasty sauce. We shared a Chinese style pancake filled with red bean paste to finish and some flowering tea – when in Rome.
Good Earth leans more towards fine dining than fast, cheap food and the Wandsworth location means it’s the perfect place to take a date, especially during these summer nights. Check it out people.
