you’re looking for a breakfast that’s hearty, fresh and good value too then Hackney City Farm might just be the place for you. After hearing a ton of good things about the Full English here we arrived for the 10am opening and we were starving. First thing that hit us….a cup of tea £1, that’s right tea just £1. These days!? Sold.

There’s no airs and graces here but that’s the charm. Park your bum on one of the huge wooden tables where you will be served your farmers brekkie; hand made sausage, back bacon, mushroom, eggs, a couple of slices of freshly made bread and some roasted tomatoes. All ingredients are sourced from local farms so the menu is amended in line with what the season has to offer.

We’ve already planned our next visit when we will be trying the Canadian Brunch of homemade banana bread, bacon, scrambled egg and maple syrup. The restaurant is also open late on a Thursday when it hosts its weekly Thursday Supper Night and if the breakfast is anything to go by we bet it’s pretty good just like those gooey chocolate brownies. Eeee we didn’t eat a brownie after a Full English, did we?
