may remember earlier this year when we brought you news of the brains behind Eat 17 and Bacon Jam opening up a deli-come-restaurant-come-burgerjoint on Chatsworth Road. Well it’s now all open, located in a former pool hall in a building that dates back to 1914.

The restaurant, located on the first floor has a glamorous vintage feel to the decor, with a modern menu and plans for a cinema afoot. We kicked off with the light smoked chicken noodles, crispy skin and enoki, packed with meaty flavours and the juicy Scallops, coronation cauliflower, onions and pomegranate. At £7 for three huge scallops, it’s bloody good value.

We followed up with the Pork burger, chorizo jam, aged manchego and spinach served with double cooked chips, seasoned so well they were crack-like addictive. The tender chargrilled lamb rump, red pepper ketchup, yoghurt & pistachio, coriander & radish salad didn’t disappoint either.

We could only fit one dessert in (FAIL) so we went for the Homemade Cookie Dough ice-cream (WIN). The meal was faultless, the surrounds are swish and it’s great value for money. We’ll be doing a lot more eating at Eat 17, that’s for sure!
