London’s very own Jamaican beach shack hideaway can be found in the heart of Covent Garden. Providing an escape from the miserable weather Dub Jam Jamaican BBQ and Rum Shack dishes out top notch caribbean food and reggae rum cocktails. We went down to get involved in all things Dub Jam.
For such a small place there is a whole lot going on. The reggae rum punch grabbed us within seconds…which comes with an interesting tale as each cocktail is hand pumped through the venue’s speaker system, infusing it with reggae vibes. Jam Hot! The Caribbean menu is full of exciting tings, skewers, burgers, patty’s and lots of sides. The Dub Shack pork burger with pineapple and smoked cheese was a fav along with those highly addictive Rude Boy skin on chips. Respect!
It’s not just the food and drinks that will have you talking, nearly everything around you has a story to tell. From the hand-made lights created from tin cans and buoys, to the walls plastered with Trojan Records cover-art and just see if you can guess which three high street shops donated certain letters donning the walls. At the weekend the tables are pushed back to make way for more of a boogie on the floor as those reggae vibes pump through the whole rum shack.
