There’snothing worse than when the sun finally comes out blazing and you find yourself wasting valuable ray catching hours queuing to get a table alfresco or at one of the few decent rooftop bars. Well then, let us introduce you to the all new Dalloway Terrace, tucked away inside The Bloomsbury. The indoor-outdoor restaurant is a peaceful little gem, perfect for uh-oh those summer nights especially given the retractable roof and closing windows which means if the heavens do open up you’re fully covered. We took full advantage of the warm weather kicking off an early evening dinner with the signature champagne cocktails; Mrs Dalloway Champagne, Courvoisier VSOP, sugar and Angostura bitters, a little like a posh Iron Bru if you will.
Food wise the menu features modern twists on classic British dishes. We were big fans of the generous portion of crispy pig’s cheeks with the apple and raisin chutney and the simple, yet perfectly cooked grilled salmon steak with cucumber, dill and lemon. But if you really want to nail those English holiday vibes, we suggest the Meantime beer battered Sea bass, chunky chips and mushy peas washed down with some crisp white vino and a Bloomsbury Bakewell tart with pistachio ice cream.[URIS id=64798]
