not often an Italian restaurant gives you that “Mama Mia!” feeling, so when we visited Da Scalzo in Belgravia, we were more than happy.

The restaurant is instantly inviting; memorable quotes painted on the walls, like “It’s easier to stay faithful to a restaurant than it is a woman” provide the wit, whilst the waiters provide the flawless service, we dropped a fork and were given a replacement in less than 30 seconds! There’s even a live Jazz band during weekends to add to the chilled vibes.

Where the venue excels, the food exceeds. A must is the Pizza Prada; a stone-baked pizza with smoked salmon, wild rocket, mascarpone and lashings of caviar. For all the pizza experts, try their simple yet authentic Calzone with a crust like no other. The menu also offers fish, meat and pasta dishes in case dough isn’t your thing.

For dessert you can either go traditional with the chef’s Tiramisu or mix it up with their tangy Lemon Creme Brûlée. To accompany the food, they have an extensive wine list to satisfy even the pickiest of drinkers. And of course, for the queen of pizzerias, it has to be a glass of Prosecco for us…cheers!
