With summer finally on its way, we think we’ve found a little piece of Mexico hanging above the streets of London. Jose Cuervo has teamed up with Skylounge at the DoubleTree Hilton Hotel and transformed the stunning rooftop into Cuervo’s Cantina for a summer long party.
Leaving the lift we were greeted by a mariachi band singing the classic Human League track ‘Don’t you want me baby’ and handed a deliciously sour frozen margarita. There are certainly worse ways to spend your Friday night.
With awesome views across the City, the Tower of London and Tower Bridge the Cantina is a pop of colour against the grey backdrop of London’s skyline. Situated on the 12th floor, you aren’t looking down on the city…you are literally part of it.
The best time to head to Cuervo’s Cantina is definitely sunset. As the buildings begin to reflect the amber hues, the coloured lanterns which line the rooftop shine a warm glow against the tequila stocked shack. Speaking of tequila, the drinks are summer in a glass, or pitcher! Frozen Margaritas, Palomas, Mexican Mules, Diablos and Tequila Sangrias are all on the menu. The food is pretty tasty too, with Mexican flatbreads covered in spiced shredded chicken, and of course, layered with salsa, sour cream and guacamole.
Expect the usual suspects, such as corn on the cob smothered with garlic and cheese, grilled prawn fajitas and never ending nachos. What’s not to love? With Cuervo’s Cantina’S residency in full-swing, now is the perfect time to shout ARRIBA! SUMMER IS HERE!
