LOTI EATS: CAPRICCI

capricci-LOTI

There’s been rather a lot of activity down Bankside way recently, what with the new extension of the Tate Modern opening. And a stone’s throw away from there is Capricci, an Italian restaurant and deli that’s all about authentic Italian ingredients from artisan producers.

The super passionate and knowledgable staff are only too happy to give recommendations…the natural Vermentino wine we were pointed to was a winner…but you are also encouraged to choose whatever bottle takes your fancy from the shelves. The menu changes daily, in fact it changed twice the day we went, but if you see the tomino cheese wrapped in parma ham or the seafood spaghetti on there, that’s what you should order…you can’t go wrong with rich melted cheese followed by a hearty portion of shellfish. The dessert options are much more limited than the rest of the menu but you can try a selection of biscuits and then buy some to take home.

Whether you’re looking for somewhere to eat after a day out on the Southbank; you want a quick bowl of pasta and an Aperol; or you’re searching for some quality Italian ingredients, Capricci is a good option.
