What was once a skanky boozer is now a colourful, bright and airy restaurant with a real buzz about the place. The cocktail menu features a selection of Caipirinhas that come in all kinds of different flavours, we’re all about the kiwi. We can also recommend the ‘Dream Team 1970’, served in a victory mug, well it is the year of the World Cup.
The Guaca-Molho, plantain chips and fresh, zesty guacamole, kept us entertained before our street food style starters arrived. Spicy malagueta prawns were chargrilled and juicy, the malagueta coating gave them a strong kick. Chicken coxinahs, breaded parcels of shredded chicken in subtle spices, if we’re honest could of done with a little more punch.
The award for most impressive looking dish goes to the full stack of rib and home slaw. These were featured at Ribstock and you can take it from us the sticky, sweet barbecue sauce is gonna leave your face looking slightly less impressive. The picanha burger made from rump steak was a tasty treat and along with the chili mayo, matchstick, black beans and added spicy pulled pork the texture and flavours nailed it.
