of our fans may remember back in the year when we told you about Burger Breakout opening in West End boozer the Old Crown. Well it has been voted one of London’s best burger joints and we’ll tell you for why…because they are freaking awesome. Just check this out…Devon Long Horn 8ox beef patty, smoked onion jam, 3 cheese sauce, hot pickle, lettuce and house made 1000 island dressing. That our friends is The O.C. Burger, one of seven on the menu which also includes pulled pork, venison, lamb, chicken and the ‘I don’t think I need your bull’ veggie option.

Our O.C burger was in a word, epic. Be warned, these are not light bites, they are hearty weapons of mass destruction designed to eradicate your hunger and work seamlessly with the smoked horseradish salted chips that accompany all burgers. Being so big, juicy and indeed tasty means the bun is overwhelmed with what we like to call ‘the goodness’ and it won’t take long before you are dripping from your elbows and the bun is melting before your eyes. Don’t be afraid, there are several tactics to consider, one may be not to put the burger own until it has been devoured, you might want to use a thousand napkins to help you through the mess or adopt to the traditional knife and folk to aid the task in hand. Whatever your strategy you will do so with conviction, eagerness and a pleasant and warming facial expression as the satisfaction slowly takes hold of your body and mind.

There are other options on the menu that are equally mouth-watering like the ‘pig in a box’ which comes in a box crammed with chips, pulled pork, Boston beans with bacon and slaw – you won’t finish this one we guarantee. Burgers will knock you back 12 of your English but are worth every penny. Modern day soul food. Not for the faint hearted.
