When
you hear the words ‘all day breakfast’, a greasy fry up served at six in the evening usually comes to mind, but not at Brew Cafe. This modest chain of cafe-restaurants, located south of the river (not to mention the few scattered across the pond and in Oz), serves classic breakfast dishes with a twist. Move over brunch, Brinner is the new girl in town.Last week we headed over to the newest addition to the Brew Cafe family in Wandsworth. The menu is extensive and varied so there really is something for everyone – including CocoPops! We opted for the Turkish eggs, that’s poached eggs served with hung yoghurt and hot chill butter, and a treacle cured bacon sarnie, both served on toasted pide. Yoghurt and eggs, treacle and bacon are flavours you wouldn’t expect to be paired together- but trust us, they totally work.
The bacon sandwich was the winner, but for a healthier alternative the Turkish eggs were not far behind. We finished off with a flourless chocolate cake served with ice cream, which balanced out our savoury mains perfectly.
The atmosphere in Brew Cafe was warm and welcoming with incredibly friendly staff. Along with their Wandsworth branch, you’ll find a Brew Cafe in Wimbledon and Battersea. So if you want an all day breakfast, lunch or dinner with an antipodean twist, head down to Brew Cafe!
