Beloved deli Reubens, the only kosher restaurant in the West End, is being brought back to life thanks to restaurateur Lee Landau. He bought the site after the deli shut abruptly this spring after 46 years of trading due to a family bereavement. Landau, who already has a portfolio of kosher cafes and restaurants to his name, is completely making over the site.
The ground-floor deli will open first, with classics like salt beef sandwiches, reubens, chicken soup and schnitzel, with the downstairs restaurant following later with a totally revamped menu. Check back for more deets on that one soon.
