Gordon Ramsay is slowly taking over The Savoy as he’s opening a third restaurant inside the hotel, to join the River Restaurant and the Savoy Grill. Restaurant 1890 by Gordon Ramsay is a tribute to Georges Auguste Escoffier, being named after the year the famed French chef joined The Savoy, and will serve a modern French with European influences tasting menu (priced at £110 per person) paired with a vintage wine list.
James Sharp will be taking the helm as Executive Chef, joining from Petrus, and he describes the new spot as “an exclusive kitchen table experience in a restaurant setting” – there are just 26 seats in Restaurant 1890 and it’s only opening for dinner from Wednesday – Saturday so you’ll have to be quick to bag a table!
