relax and unwind with spas in london

Even though living and working in London is the absolute best, the stress and the hustle that comes with being in a major city (not to mention the pollution) it can take its toll on you. That’s where a spa break comes in. And whilst it’s lovely to take a trip out of the city to spa in the countryside, sometimes you need to squeeze in a treatment where you can, whether it’s in your lunch break or in your hood. These are the spas in London we make a beeline for when we need to take a break.

Agua Bathhouse & Spa at Mondrian

Located in the basement of the Mondrian London hotel the Agua Bathhouse & Spa is a true spa experience, so zen it’s the kind of place you want to spend a good couple of hours in rather than dashing in and out on your lunch break. They offer a range of massages, including a custom option personalised to what your body needs, and facial treatments, some of which are exclusive collabs with wellness brands so a visit here really is a bit special. You can also try out a new look by heading to the Agua glam lounge – they do a mean gel manicure.

Third Space Spa at Canary Wharf

Third Space Canary Wharf is the largest luxury health club and alongside the training space they’ve also got a beaut of a spa. They’ve got everything from physio and acupuncture to Elemis facials and spray tanning covered but for pure relaxation, the kokolokahi massages are the one. There are five types of oil and massage to choose from; if you need a little nurturing you can go for the balance massage with coconut oil or if you need re-energising, the strength treatment includes a firmer, deeper massage to stimulate circulation. And if you sometimes find massages a little intimidating, the therapists couldn’t be more helpful and friendly.

Ayurveda Pura Health Spa & Beauty Centre

The Ayurveda Pura Health Spa & Beauty Centre in Greenwich practices an ancient holistic medical system from India that puts your body and mind back in harmony. More than just a relaxing massage, this is the ‘science of life’. Treatments here are all about restoring the balance of your individual constitution, which is made up of three bio-physical forces (Doshas). These are Vata (air & space), Pitta (fire & water) and Kapha (water & earth). Each one of us has all three but it’s the dominance of each force that determines our body type. The Pinda Sveda treatment, a massage using a tailored selection of hot herbal oils, is good for strengthening the skeletal and nervous systems and regulating circulation, and it defo is relaxing too.
