Open Air Theatre Returns to Regent’s Park This Summer

The Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre has announced a stellar programme for 2026

Running from May to September, the 2026 season will be Drew McOnie’s second season as Artistic Director of Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre, and like last year, he’s put together quite the programme.

It’ll open with a world premiere of Sherlock Holmes (2nd May – 6th June), a new mystery featuring the famous detective written by Joel Horwood. In June, Vivaldi’s Four Seasons is reimagined by Tinuke Craig in new contemporary dance work A Life in Four Seasons (11th – 14th June), with choreography from Alexzandra Sarmiento.

This is followed by the return of A Midsummer Night’s Dream (20th June – 18th July), with a new production directed by Atri Banerjee, before the brand-new production of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s CATS (25th July – 12th September), directed by Drew McOnie, takes to the stage to finish the season off.

Over the summer the theatre will also host the family-friendly show Anansi the Spider (15th August – 6th September), with Live Music Week, Family Takeover Day and a series of one-off Sunday events also returning. Tickets for the 2026 shows are on sale for members from 12pm on Fri 30th January, with public booking opening at 12pm on Thurs 5th February.
