regent’s park open air theatre | 2019 season

Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre is back for 2019 with a stellar programme in tow. Running from May to September, the season opens with Thornton Wilder’s Pulitzer Prize-winning play Our Town, which celebrates what it means to be human, followed by a co-production of Engelbert Humperdinck’s opera Hansel and Gretel with the English National Opera, with the fairytale piece being sung in English.

The Shakespeare for the year is A Midsummer Night’s Dream, which is returning to Regent’s Park for the first time in seven years, before the season concludes with Evita, directed by Jamie Lloyd, which we predict will be very popular indeed.

The theatre will also host a series of one-off events including Adam Kay’s This Is Going To Hurt, the Comedy Store Players, Shappi Khorsandi, Nick Mulvey and Luna Cinema screenings.
