Queer East is back for its fourth year, with a city-wide programme of events showcasing LGBTQ+ cinema from East and Southeast Asia. Featuring 50 films from 17 countries, the festival will kick off on the 18th with an opening gala at BFI Southbank where you can catch the UK premiere of the high-camp comedy I Love You, Beksmen. Over the following two weeks, there’ll be a programme of narrative feature-length films, documentaries, retrospective screenings, shorts and dance performances at venues including Rich Mix, Genesis Cinema, Prince Charles Cinema and The Garden. And closing night will take place at the Barbican with the UK premiere of Home Ground, a documentary about Korea’s first lesbian bar, Lesbos.
