Queer East Film Festival Is Back for 2024

Queer East is back for its fifth year, with a city-wide programme of events showcasing LGBTQ+ cinema from East and Southeast Asia. With a remarkable line-up of contemporary features, documentaries and shorts, the festival will kick off on the 17th April with an opening gala at the Barbican where you can catch the UK premiere of an exhilarating coming-of-age story, A Song Sung Blue. Over the following 11 days, the festival’s ground-breaking programme will continue at venues including BFI Southbank, The Garden Cinema, ICA and Rich Mix. Plus, for the first time, the festival’s ‘expanded programme’ will see screenings take the form of outdoor garden walks, sauna gatherings, intimate performances and bondage workshops.
