Provisions Wine & Cheese on Holloway Road is one of our fave cheese shops in town, so it’s GRATE news that the team is expanding into East London with a second shop opening on Hackney Road. The new site will stock all the Provisions goods we’ve come to know and love – low intervention and biodynamic wines, raw milk and artisan cheeses, and deli goods – plus new products like spices and coffees. There’ll also be more wines specifically from the the Languedoc, Roussillon and Southern Rhone, and over 80 cheeses from France, Italy and the UK on offer.
Given that the shop will be stocked with the best artisan ingredients it only seems right that the team makes more use of them, so the Hackney Road Provisions will be making their own sandwiches – there’ll be a veggie flatbread with falafel, marinated peppers, fermented spinach, aubergine caviar & lemony yoghurt; a sourdough sarnie stuffed with miso butter, coppa, mushroom, comte, pesto & pickles; and a monthly special. And if you still want more, the store will be hosting a programme of chef dinners, wine tastings and events in the downstairs space.
