Prince Arthur Is Moving From Belgravia To A New Chelsea Site

The Basque-inspired spot reopens as a restaurant and bar, with a late-night music lounge upstairs.

It’s been a big year for the team behind Prince Arthur. The original Belgravia pub, known for its Basque-inspired dining room and seafood counter, has closed, as has sister spot Arthur’s Market the grocery-meets-dining concept that opened just last autumn on the King’s Road. In their place comes Prince Arthur Chelsea, opening end of September at 96 Draycott Avenue.

The new site swaps pub for restaurant and bar, spread across two floors. The ground floor seats up to 79 across the restaurant, with floor-to-ceiling arched windows and a bespoke fire mirroring the kitchen’s wood-fired grill, plus 16 covers of al-fresco seating outside. Upstairs is an entirely new addition: Chelsea Music Bar, a late-night listening bar and cocktail lounge inspired by Tokyo’s intimate music bars.

Head chef Adam Iglesias, who helped the Belgravia site earn Michelin Guide recognition two years running, returns to lead the kitchen, keeping signatures like sea urchins, txuleta and whole turbot on the menu alongside new seasonal, ingredient-led dishes cooked over live fire. Seafood will be served from a counter where guests pick their own fish, with in-house caviar production and dry-ageing for both meat and fish. The wine list leans heavily Spanish and French, and Guinness remains on tap, poured through the same specialist lines Prince Arthur Belgravia was known for.
