supergroup, Primitive Parts have released two new tracks in support of their latest double AA which dropped last week. Released on LDN’s very own Sexbeat Records, the group are one part Sauna Youth’s Lindsay Corstorphine to two parts, Male Bonding’s Kevin Hendrick and Robert Christian. ‘Open Heads’ and ‘Signal’ are the first tasters, both driving and rhythmical, each with it’s own pop sensibility at just under three minutes.

There is classic Blur/Coxon alongside the narcotic chug of The Velvets with reference to influences and a melody palate which could include Dandy Warhols, or more importantly Gorky’s Zygotic Mynci. Signal includes a great doo-wah chorus with an ambiguous lyric “We don’t even know what we’re doing” and Open Heads has a great middle section, exploding into the melody repeating guitar solo.

An excellent slice of British indie rock n roll, Primitive Parts will be live in the city on the 19th and 22nd February at the Ace Hotel and Ryans Bar respectively.
