Last month London On The Inside went along to the Playboy Club. Yep, every teenage boy’s dream…we are no longer teenagers but the bunnies still made us blush. Housed in swanky Mayfair just off Park Lane, the club is filled with the sort of scenery you find in the movies – Hollywood movies not those of the X rated category either it’s actually not as trashy as one would imagine.
After a tour from the Head Bunnies, yes we’ll stop rubbing it in soon, but she did have a friend with her, so yeah two bunnies, with little white tails and everything, we headed to the Salvatore bar. The bar is run by the Salvatore Calabrese who happens to be one of the world’s best bar tenders and to our surprise he was in the house we day we visited. We went for the Bunny Bubbles, a raspberry champagne cocktail as sweet as the bunnies themselves.
After drinks we headed to The Dining Room where we were impressed by Hand Dived Scottish Scallops, Tuna Sashimi with jalapeno and shallot salsa and The Playboy Burger of course. Then it was down to Baroque where Two Door Cinema Club were playing an intimate show. The club itself is pretty plush and was packed out with trendy, young things including Mercury Prize winners Alt J.
This club is open to none members but tables don’t come cheap so you might need to put it on expenses that said the restaurant is open to none members and has a 3 course special menu for £30….Oh and did we mention the bunnies? Oh yeah, we did.
