Nando’s had better watch out as Casa do Frango is on the up in London, opening a new restaurant in Mayfair to add to the locations in London Bridge and Shoreditch, with another new site planned for Victoria in 2023. The Heddon Street spot, coming in October, will be the largest one yet for the group, with a terrace, dining room, bar and two private dining rooms, seating over 200 in total across two floors.
Of course the piri-piri chicken that Casa do Frango is famous for, cooked the proper Algarvian way over a wood-fired open grill, will be at the centre of the menu, alongside Portuguese sharing plates like Iberico pork croquettes, bacalhau fritters, African rice, batatas fritas, and montanheira salad. There’ll be an all-Portuguese wine list, including Casa do Frango’s own vinho verde, Portuguese beer on draught and cocktails like white port & tonic to go with those birds. CLUCK YEAH.
