is a truth universally acknowledged that sniffing a prospective partners shirt on the first date isn’t a good idea. That is, unless you’re attending the Pheromone Party in which case it’s mandatory. The matchmaking event based on the science of smell has made its way to London from L.A and is back at Stories bar on Broadway Market.

The idea is that you sleep in a t-shirt for 3 nights, pop it in a Ziploc bag and bring it along to the party where potential partners will give it a whiff. Using the premise that pheromones (the chemical triggers of sexual attraction in mammals) determine compatibility, guests smell the t-shirts and take a picture with those they dig. And eau de love takes over!

For those who find the idea a bit on the nose, there will be a storytelling corner with French perfumery Etat Libre D’Orange with a selection of perfumes from their boutique. Illustrator and artist Novemto Koto will create live art and performance artist Mary Beth Morossa will be providing entertainment throughout the night.
