peg to open in hackney

We were pretty bummed to hear that Legs was closing but now that the P Franco team is taking over the space, we’re excited to see what it’ll become. Opening in early February, Peg will be an all counter restaurant, which owner Phil Bracey is planning to keep low key with good wine, simple food, a small team, a record player and no ressies. Byron Fini, who’s been at their second restaurant Bright since it opened, will be taking on the head chef role. Although partly inspired by a trip to Japan and though it’ll have a bit of an izakaya vibe, with grilled skewer dishes featuring on the menu, the kitchen won’t be sticking to just one style of cuisine. With P Franco in Clapton, Bright in London Fields and now Peg in Hackney, they’ve got a nice little East London triangle going on.
