After popping up around South East London, you can now find Tava Rakh at Copeland Park
If you’re looking for a new vegan spot in South, Tava Rakh fits the bill. Founder Mala Lal started Tava Rakh (which means ‘put the hot plate on’ in Punjabi) as a pop-up kitchen, and after stints at the likes of Skehan’s, El Vermut, Peckham Car Boot and SET Social (where she hosts the Paratha Club chai and movie nights), she’s now got a new home at Copeland Park in Peckham.
Tava Rakh is open Thursday – Sunday, with two menus for lunch and dinner. During the day, you can swing by for aloo methi swirl puff; ‘cheesy’ Marmite & tofu toastie with masala beans; kulcha wrap; spice bowls; and cardamom miso tahini peanut butter chocolate chip cookies. Come evening, scotch ‘eggs’; chole kulcha; cucumber crunch; methi chick’n bites; and Indian truffles hit the menu. And you can swing by anytime of day for chai (iced and hot), high protein mango lassi, and Guinness cardamom chocolate milkshakes.
