Peckham Is Getting a New Restaurant and Hi-Fi Bar

Hausu is getting a permanent home

After popping up across town, Hausu is putting down roots in Peckham this October and opening in the former Coal Rooms space right next to Peckham Rye station. Hausu is based around the idea that food and music can bring people together and the vintage high-fidelity sound system will play a big role in the new restaurant. Interesting selectors have been playing at previous pop-ups and supper clubs, so we’re expecting the soundtrack to be on point.

We don’t have a full menu yet but from what we can see on Instagram, dishes like green beans dressed with miso butter sauce, and egg yolk & squid ink pasta with agretti, white crab and pickled lemon zest will be on the cards. At previous collabs and pop-ups, chef Holly-Dawn Middleton-Joseph (ex-Camberwell Arms and Franks) has been serving plates like scallop toast with gochujang and black sesame; chicken & ginger dumplings with broth and green schmaltz; tomatoes with shiso, confit garlic and salted chilli; and five spice-marinated pork with blistered peaches. Throw in a carefully curated wine list and Hausu is sounding very promising indeed.
