The king of all desert boots, Clarks Originals has teamed up with pattern power house Patternity to kick start the season with an exclusive online collaboration.
The classic boot has been re-envisioned with a creative and contemporary approach. Covered in Patternity’s iconic graphic print, the desert boot has a lacqured finish on suede bringing an extra dimension to the much loved shoe.
Born in 2009, the ‘pattern pioneers’ Anna Murray and Grace Winteringham established Patternity at the forefront of textile design. Originally an online pattern archive, the creative hub now houses a pattern research consultancy, design studio and pioneering event and education platform.
The product they have designed for Clarks Originals goes beyond the limits of the everyday design boundaries of the desert boot. They see pattern everywhere, the girls say… ‘Patterns are something we come across every day. We wear them, we walk over them, we even eat, drink and think them – we always have and we always will’
It’s hard to believe that Nathan Clark’s original desert boot was created 65 years ago and still looks so great – it doesn’t even look retro, it is a true design classic, lasting the test of time and still remains modern. As the brand says themselves, Clarks Originals…’has been much imitated but never bettered’…we totally agree.
