London isn’t short of great pasta but just who is cooking up the best pasta in town? Old Street restaurant Officina 00 is gonna find out by hosting the inaugural Pasta Battaglia this October, where some of the best East London restaurants go head-to-head against each other for the title of pasta champion. Officina 00’s Head Chef Elia Sebregondi will be joined by Sager + Wilde’s Jordan Rogers, Ombra’s Mitshel Ibrahim and Angelina’s Usman Haider-Malik, who will all be cooking their best autumnal pasta dishes – Delica pumpkin gnocchi with brown butter, sage & gorgonzola from Officina 00, double stuffed agnolotti with chicken liver parfait & sweet onion from Sager + Wilde, smoked eel & buckwheat tortellini in brodo from Ombra, and caramelle, ricotta, truffle furikake & soy burnt butter from Angelina.
Diners will be able to vote on their fave, along with the judging panel of Margot Henderson, Ajesh Patalay, @ks_ate_here, Richard Vines and LOTI’s own Jules Pearson, so grab a ticket if you wanna get involved.
