Taking inspiration from David Mancuso, who was the first person to start throwing loft parties in NYC in 1970, Lucky Cloud Sound System started to host their own parties with the man himself in London in 2003. Now LCSS puts on events three times a year (in October, February and June) at the Rose Lipman Building in De Beauvoir, with the next one coming up on 4th October.
All LCSS parties retain David’s ethos, where the dance floor is a utopian space centred around community, inclusivity, friendship, equality, open-ended music selections and good sound. That means DJs who play a wide range of music, a vegan buffet provided during the evening, and kids being allowed to attend for the first two hours of the party.
